Our method

What a brand must prove to be listed here

A wallet catalogue is only worth something if someone has done the sorting beforehand. Here are the four conditions we check before listing a manufacturer — and they explain the brands that are missing.

Verifiable security

A certified secure element, EAL5+ at minimum, or a documented air-gapped architecture. A marketing promise is not enough: the level must be published and something the manufacturer can be held to.

Open standards

BIP39 / BIP32 compatibility, so that your backup stays restorable elsewhere. If the manufacturer disappears tomorrow, your funds must not disappear with it.

Maintained firmware

A real update history, and patches released when a vulnerability is found. A device left untouched for three years is a device we do not recommend.

Reachable support

An official channel that answers, up-to-date online documentation, and a clear warranty policy. We test this point before listing a brand, not after.

The brands

Who does what, and for whom

Each of these brands excels at one specific use. There is no best wallet in absolute terms: there is the wallet suited to the way you hold your assets.

Tangem

Manufacturer · Switzerland · NFC cards & ring
Battery-free NFC EAL6+

Bank-card format cards and a ring, with no screen and no battery: the key lives in the chip and never leaves it. The backup does not rely on 24 words but on several paired cards, which shifts the risk from paper to the object itself.

  • No seed phrase to write down or hide
  • Nothing to recharge, nothing to update physically
  • Immediately easy to use, including as a first wallet

Ellipal

Manufacturer · International · Air-gapped
Air-gapped QR code Colour screen

The bet on total isolation: no USB, no Bluetooth, no Wi-Fi. Every transaction passes through QR codes read by the camera. The metal casing is built to resist opening attempts and wipes its data when an intrusion is detected.

  • No attack surface through cables or radio waves
  • Large screen: address verification is genuinely readable
  • Titan Mini for a more portable format

Keystone

Manufacturer · International · Open source
Open source Air-gapped Triple SE

The choice of verifiability: publicly auditable firmware and air-gapped operation over QR. The Keystone 3 Pro carries three independent secure elements and works with most software wallets on the market.

  • Open code: security does not rest on secrecy
  • Works with MetaMask, Rabby, BlueWallet and many others
  • Fingerprint reader and comfortable passphrase entry

CoolWallet

Manufacturer · Taiwan · Card format
Ultra-thin Encrypted Bluetooth EAL6+

The thickness of a bank card, a built-in e-paper screen and an encrypted Bluetooth link to the phone. Designed for those who want to keep their wallet on them at all times, without carrying an extra device.

  • Fits in an ordinary wallet, resistant to bending
  • Confirmation on the card's own screen, not only on the phone
  • Several weeks of battery life per charge

SafePal

Manufacturer · International · Multi-chain
Multi-chain QR or Bluetooth Full app

A complete ecosystem rather than a single device: the S1 works entirely by QR, the X1 adds Bluetooth, and the app covers a very large number of networks with built-in swapping and portfolio tracking.

  • The widest choice in number of supported blockchains
  • Two approaches available: air-gapped or connected
  • One of the most affordable features-to-price ratios

Do you build serious hardware?

We open the catalogue to a small number of brands each year. Co-marketing, integration into the comparison tool, product bundles, dedicated guides: the partnership takes whatever form serves your users.

How it works

Three steps, with no commitment up front. We answer every request, including when the answer is no — with the reasons.

01 · FIRST CONTACT

Present your range, your certifications and your firmware policy. One email is enough to get started.

02 · EVALUATION

We test a device under real customer conditions: unboxing, setup, recovery, support.

03 · GOING LIVE

Product page, entry in the comparison tool and a dedicated setup guide written by us.

Frequently asked questions

About our partnerships

Are you paid to promote a brand?
We are resellers: we earn our margin on the products we sell, which is visible and openly stated. However, no place in the comparison tool and no ranking can be bought. The criteria shown above are the same for everyone, and some well-known brands are absent for exactly that reason.
Why is a given major brand not listed?
The reasons vary: closed firmware with no possible audit, an irregular update history, support that is hard to reach from Europe, or logistics that do not let us guarantee a new, sealed product. We prefer a short, defensible catalogue to an exhaustive one.
Are the products bought directly from the manufacturers?
Yes, from the manufacturer or its authorised distributor, with no marketplace intermediary. It is the only way to control the supply chain — the historic weak point of buying a hardware wallet. Seals are checked on arrival at our warehouse.
What happens if a brand no longer meets your criteria?
It leaves the catalogue. Abandoned firmware, an unpatched vulnerability or support that stops answering is enough. We notify the customers concerned and keep the guides online for those who already own the device.
